The Refugee Art Project are proud to present a new line of gourmet coffee – ‘Ground Within’. This is the brainchild of Sarah Rodden, a design student in Melbourne, who wanted to make an assignment with a difference. From that first sip of hot, milky coffee in the morning to those stolen moments with a smooth latte, this is coffee to awaken the conscience!

In an innocuous demountable in North Parramatta, an exciting pilot project is taking place. A group of people is transforming the decrepit, to-be-demolished building into a vibrant space for exchange of ideas, culture and art making. The group comprises of recently released refugees who made art inside Villawood detention centre, and local artists. All have been integral, or somehow involved with the fabulous Refugee Art Project. Our use of the space will involve the local community and various refugee support groups in order both to strengthen social cohesion and help refugees establish themselves within the community.
